To provide a telephone and drop-in support and counselling service for those in need in the community, and accommodation for women & women with children who are in need of a supportive environment. Services and activities offered: Short term accommodation for women and women with children needing a supportive environment. Also a drop in facility where clients can just call in (or telephone). We offer pregnancy testing, clothing, tea and a chat, accommodation, advice, counselling and more. COST: The counselling service incurs a 'means tested' charge of between £5 & £40 per hour on ability to pay. No charges but donations accepted. Accommodation charges apply. All drop-in services are free of charge. ELIGILIBILITY: No-one can enter the building if under the influence of drugs or alcohol. For 40 yrs Women's Aid has been at the forefront of shaping & coordinating responses to domestic violence & abuse through practice. We are a federation of over 220 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. TRINITY WINCHESTER |
Trinity Winchester provides vital practical and emotional support to people who are experiencing the effects of homelessness or vulnerability. Trinity provides practical support such as warm meals, bathing and washing facilities, and a contact address for people who would not otherwise have anywhere to receive post. Our experienced project workers also provide 1:1 support and advice about many issues such as housing, benefits, addiction, mental health, and can signpost to other agencies. There is also a GP or nurse on-site 4 days a week. Trinity is free to access - feel free to pop in to see our project workers if you need help or advice with housing, or are at risk of becoming homeless. CIS'ters - SURVIVING RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE |
We provide emotional support for females aged 18+ who (as children/teens) were raped/sexually abused/exploited by a member of their immediate and/or extended family. We offer female survivors the opportunity to explore painful issues and their associated anxieties in a confidential environment. We have over 18 years of experience working closely with members of local communities throughout Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Gloucestershire, Devon and The Channel Islands. We seek to offer the most inclusive and relevant services we can in the communities in which we work and are committed to ensuring people affected by violence, abuse and social isolation have their voices heard. Our aim is to deliver excellence and tackle the issues around disadvantage for individuals and groups through providing services along a continuum from preventative to high risk of murder/extreme violence. We strengthen organisations and professionals skill sets to help families where violence is a factor, with the elderly who may be prone to neglect and abuse due to vulnerability and with young people/children of all ages. We work alongside victims and perpetrators as well as individuals affected by mental distress and people in recovery from substance abuse.
